The Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Plant, owned by Huaneng Shandong Shidaowan Nuclear Power Ltd, is a demonstration project of high temperature gas cooling reactor. The plant is sited at Ningjinwan north of Shidao Bay, within the area of Ningjin Township, Rongcheng city, Shangdong province. It is designed to have a nameplate capacity of 2110 MWe. Construction on nuclear units on the Shidao Bay site began on 9 December 2012, currently under the centralized equipment installation and commission.
