The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant is located at Dapeng peninsula, Longgang district, Shenzhen city, Guangdong province. With the French version of M310 pressurized water reactors utilization, the plant has a totally installed capacity of 2×984 MWe and a designed operation lifetime of 40 years. Construction on Unit 1 began on 7 August 1987, which entered commercial operation on 1 February 1994. Unit 2 followed on 7 April 1988, beginning commercial operation on 6 May 1994.
