The Lingao Nuclear Power Plant is located southeast of Dapeng peninsula on the west shore of Daya Bay. The Phase I project at the site houses two Chinese version of CPR1000 pressurized water reactors, Units 1 and 2, which have a installed capacity of 2×990 MWe and projected operation lifetime of 40 years. Integrated localization rate is about of 30%. The project was constructed in May 1997 and completed in January 2003, then entering into commercial service. On 16 June 2004, the completed project passed the national acceptance. The Phase II project at the site has two Chinese modified version of CPR1000 pressurized water reactors, Units 3 and 4, with an installed capacity of 2×1000 MWe and a designed 40-year operation lifetime. Constructed of the Phase II project, Units 3 and 4, began in December 2005, with Unit 3 coming officially into commercial operation on 20 September 2010 and Unit 4 on 7 August 2011, respectively.
