“The site supervisor of MEE/ECRO has already completed verification of corrective action required by nuclear safety inspection of control points which was conducted before cold performance test of main system of unit 5. The unit status meets the requirements for implementing cold performance test for the main system. Please instruct!”
“Agree!”
At 10:07 am 27 April 2019, after director of MEE/ECRO issued a word “agreed”, the control points for cold performance test of unit 5 at Fuqing NPP – the globally first HPR1000 reactor- were formally released.
Since beginning of May 2015, the construction of the globally first HPR1000 reactor experienced many important nodes, notably cold performance test of the main system. This marks the globally first HPR1000 reactor has formally entered into commissioning phase from construction and installation phases.

This is the first time to release cold performance test control points for the main system of the globally first reactor since the implementation of Nuclear Safety Act. Commissioning process is an important window period for laying down the foundation for the safe operation of the subsequent units through discovering and solving potential problems. It is essential to complete commissioning tasks with the “strict, cautious, careful, and solid” attitudes and meet the requirements of “two zero tolerances”, so as to ensure the safety and quality of the globally first HPR1000 reactor construction and submit a satisfactory answer to people, the nation and the world.
