MEE Deputy Director surveyed at MEE/NCRO for nuclear and radiation safety oversight and inspection and law enforcement documentation
2019-08-14

MEE Deputy Director and NNSA Director Liu Hua on 24 April made a survey at MEE/NCRO for nuclear and radiation safety oversight and inspection and law enforcement documentation. He required the related departments of MEE/NCRO to fully summarize the mature experiences gained in on-site oversight and inspection and make best use of the available files to ensure completion of compiling work on time.

During his survey, Liu heard their input about the progress that have been made in this regards and confirmed the interim results achieved so far. While discussing with associated staff, he required all of them to focus their concerted efforts to the major tasks of nuclear safety regulation in such as a way to advance the work of oversight and inspection of nuclear facilities and nuclear technology utilizations and to facilitate the normalization of law enforcement documentation. Further requirements were put forward for the continued work. First, the oversight and inspection program documentation deployed by the administrative offices of NNSA should be integrated into overall consideration of the on-going work. Second, on the basis of taking account of more than three decades of experiences accumulated in regulatory system of nuclear and radiation safety, the existing oversight and inspection files should be fully used to form consistent and coherent program documentation. Third, the continued efforts should be dedicated to ensuring the comprehensive completion of this work by the end of 2019.
