MEE/NCRO and Dongfang Electric Group jointly held the forum to discuss regulatory oversight of nuclear equipment
2019-02-01

On 10 January this year, a New Year Forum was held by the joint effort of MEE/NCRO and Dongfang Electric Group (DEG) to discuss how to strength regulatory oversight capability in helping advance the domestic nuclear power related equipment into international market. MEE/NCRO Director Zhang Zhigang, DEG Vice President Gao Feng, and other relevant leaders attended the meeting.

On the meeting, DEG first of all described the basic status of the company. DEG is one of pilot programs of the licensed Group for manufacturing civil nuclear safety equipment. This pattern of Group licensee will help implement the national “one belt one road” strategy and facilitate domestic nuclear electric equipment to go aboard at reduced business costs. A head of MEE/NCRO pointed out that MEE/NCRO will strengthen risk-informed regulatory oversight works and continue to conduct personnel ability examinations. MEE/NCRO will also strengthen regulatory oversight of two “zero-tolerance” actions.

MEE/NCRO Director Zhang Zhigang expressed that, currently, both opportunities and difficulties coexist in nuclear power industry. He expected DEG to play out its advantage of big license and group licensee in maintaining the stability of personnel and retaining talents. As an innovation, the Group licensee has its advantage and convenience, and it should also speed up the resolution to the problems existing in quality assurance management. MEE/NCRO will always implement the strict regulatory oversight of nuclear enterprises to facilitate their further development.
