Recently, a Czech delegation of six persons visited Fuqing NPP and made exchange with MEE/ECRO resident staff at Fuqing NPP site.

The Czech delegation described the historical evolution and organizational framework of Czech’s regulatory oversight system for nuclear and radiation safety, legislation and regulation system, and the current situation of nuclear and radiation sector. Director of Oversight Office at Temelin nuclear power station described the major issues that have occurred, and the experiences gained during the regulatory oversight at this site.

The Resident Oversight Office of MEE/ECRO at Fuqing NPP described to Czech delegation the legislation and regulation system of China, and explained MEE/ECRO’s organizational system, oversight process and procedures, with the emphasis on the organization and implementation of oversight on the commissioning of nuclear power plant and the relevant documentation system.

Within a harmonious atmosphere, both sides exchanged viewpoints on issues of mutual interests. After conclusion of the exchange activity, the resident inspector of MEE/ECRO led the Czech delegation to a tour of HPR1000 project construction site and grand pier.
