Recently, NNSA organized an inspection group to carry out nuclear safety inspection of controlled points at Sanmen NPP Unit 2 before its first criticality.

After having listened to the reports from Sanmen NPP management about first fuel loading into Unit 2 reactor, preparation before first criticality, equipment commissioning and operating during fuel loading and dealing with non-compliance, the NNSA-organized inspection group made key inspections on the matters of mutually common concern, followed by in-depth discussions between both sides, through document check, staff interviews and site visits, implementation and change of Unit 2 commissioning as well as production preparation and operation management.

The successful completion of this mission can provide an important reference for releasing of controlled points at Sanmen NPP Unit 2 before its first criticality, which laid a foundation for health advancement of Sanmen NPP project.
