This training course was held on 14-20 May 2018 by Zhejiang Provincial Radiation Monitoring Station (ZRMS) (also known as Radiation Environment Monitoring Technology Center). The course was attended by a total of 115 technical experts and managers working with radiation safety and protection. Deputy Director Liu Jian of East China Nuclear and Radiation Oversight Station (ECNROS) presented the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Since 2006, ZRMS has held 28 national training courses in total. ZRMS takes the lead in efforts to improve the training quality by strictly examining teachers' ability, training content and actual demand.
A number of senior experts in the field of radiation protection were invited to teach, respectively, basic radiation protection knowledge; nuclear and radiation safety-related laws, regulations and standards; together with popularizing nuclear safety culture. In combination with the practices in radiation detection, the case study was carried out on the basis of existing problems and phenomena. Interactive sessions were introduced in response to questions and discussions. These training courses provide the students better understanding of the basic radiation safety knowledge, improvement of professional skills, and promotion to the nuclear safety culture construction for the participating organizations. Tsinghua University and Nanhua University dedicated a full-range of direction and evaluation to this training course. The evaluation work covered teachers’ qualification, teaching ability in preceding years, training software and hardware, attendance and discipline in the classroom, and teaching evaluation. The conclusions indicated overall assessment was excellent.
