Recently, East China Nuclear and Radiation Oversight Station, Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the MEEP/ECNROS) held the Symposium on the Topic of 2019 East China Radiation Safety Administration Annual Communication Meeting (hereinafter referred to as 2019 Annual Meeting). Members from the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province, Fujian Province, Jiangxi Province and Shandong Province participated in this meeting.

2019 Annual Meeting is an important action in further implementing the development of the East China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Community of Shared Future (hereinafter referred to as Community of Shared Future) and constructing shield for the East China nuclear safety. It is planning to be held in Jiangsu Province in November 2019. The Community of Shared Future achieved certain progress in terms of the nuclear and radiation emergency security for national major activities and the cross-regional joint law enforcement among different provinces and cities. MEEP/ECNROS summarizes the sound cooperation practices by the community of shared future over the past two years into the lessons-learned which is able to be duplicated and promoted, compiling the “East China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Cooperation Working Plan” (hereinafter referred to as “Working Plan”). The workshop takes ‘promoting the integrated development of East China nuclear and radiation safety supervision’ as the subject. In-depth discussion was conducted on 4 aspects of ‘making cooperation in terms of supervision to improve supervision and law enforcement capability’, ‘sharing resources to coordinate with each other in handling the nuclear and radiation emergencies’, ‘fulfil responsibilities to standardize the supervisory monitoring on the effluent from nuclear plant’, and ‘link information to track public opinion and share experience’ as well as on the “Working Plan”. Relevant topics and documents were optimized.

This meeting lays a solid foundation for the success of 2019 Annual Meeting, further optimizes and verifies the community of share future and presents great significances for the modernization of the nuclear and radiation safety supervision in east china.
